Caroline Forbes Appreciation Week

Day 1 ♥ The best thing you like about her —> Friendship

Caroline Forbes. Where do I start? This is the girl who used to be shallow, self centred and insecure at the beginning. All she wanted were friends who cared about her, liked her. Even as she went about the wrong way trying to gain them, at the end of the day she valued friendship. Throughout the series we see how she comes to the aid of her friends, it may be at great risk to herself but she is always there. 

We have seen her evolve from a frightened, insecure, lonely girl into a confident, brave woman. She did really ‘grow into herself’ after her transition. 

Whether it be braving the full moon to be there for her friend so he didn’t have to transition alone or delaying leaving town where she was hunted to aid her best friend we have seen how Caroline will do anything to protect her friends. Even if she gets angry with her friends, it doesn’t last for long. Re: Tyler & Matt in Season 2

In 3x15 we witness her standing strong for Bonnie, against Elena because she knew that was what Bonnie needed, even if she had to face Elena’s displeasure. In 4x02, we see her help Elena control her bloodlust and help her compel April for the first time, because she knew that was what Elena needed at that moment. In 4x03, we see her provide strength to Stefan, the one who taught her everything she knows about vampirism, we see that she would never leave anyone in the lurch.

She nutures her friends and mothers them. From looking out for Matt to standing up to Jamie and Abby, Caroline is the fierce mother lioness who protects her cubs and in this instance her cubs are her friends.

And everyone knows not to mess with the mother lioness.

This is just one reason as to why I love her.
